GTA-inspired Coke Ad Will Run During Super Bowl

GTA-inspired Coke Ad Will Run During Super Bowl

February 4, 2007
GamePolitics has previously reported on an animated Coke ad featuring Grand Theft Auto-like animation.

And while the feel-good video isn't new, it will nevertheless run as one of three Coke commercials during tonight's Super Bowl, according to CNN/Money.

How do dancing mice fit in?

Did he like, you know, give mouth to mouth to a dying rat like in Docter Dolittle?

And what about his dangerous driving in the begining? Sure, you just did all those good deeds, but you almost killed several people there, and you scared 3 men by just pulling up....

I really think Coke is implying that if you purchase their products, you will suddenly turn into Jesus.
That's a really cool commercial, I like it.

@Brokenscope: I also wish you could stop random muggings in GTA, but I do go after criminals who randomly carjack. The criminals don't fare too well.

As a matter of fact, you could stop pickpockets in two GTA games. In GTAIII it was very common to see pickpockets doing their thing in the streets (you could actually see them make the motion of opening the wallet they just stole), and you could either beat them up or slow them down long enough for the victim to do it for you. And in Vice City, you could punch pickpockets being chased down by patrolmen and get $500 for each punch. It was a great way to make some quick cash in that game.
Rotfl that comerical was great.
That commercial makes me "Lawl" inside. XD
So now it's "I'd like to steal the world a coke...".

JT is now going to endorse Pepsi I'd bet. It's the choice of the old generation.
That's such a cool advert, totally makes me feel good watching it.
Impressive animation too.
I can swear I've already seen that commercial on TV...
Am I the only who wishes you could you could stop a random mugging in GTA.
^
Nope, but cant you do so? in GTA:SA? I can't remember
All I can say is: Sweeeeeeet. :)
lol That was a cute commericial ad XD
Heh heh, love that commercial.
That commercial was awsome. I can't wait to see what other commercials air tonight.
Clearly they're saying that ingesting Coke causes a neurobiological response which dramatically changes one's personality. And kids can walk into a corner shop and buy this addictive blend of chemicals? Won't someone please think of the children!?
That's a great commercial! :) Actually, if you've been to the movies recently, then you've seen it already as it's one of the ads they run during the previews.
so THAT'S why there's no coke machines in Liberty City. They all keep getting robbed by criminals, who then turn into good guys.

Wow i wish someone would yank me outta my car during the day just to give me a Coke, I actually found this to be extremely amusing. Good work to whoever made this
Come to think of it, I remember seeing this ad in a movie theater. Before Snakes on a Plane, I think. :) I had forgotten about that ad... and that movie. HAHAHAHAHAHA.
I think Jack Thompson is still going to flip out over this commercial and threaten to sue cause it's the "Christian thing to do". Despite the commercial is funny and not violent
Roffle my Waffles!!
@Terminator44

Actually, I think the good citizen bonus in Vice City was only 50 dollars.

Anyway, you could also do that in Liberty City Stories.

But not in San Andreas. You punch a guy that the cop is chaing down, and you'll only piss the cop off. I wonder why that is...
But what happens after the caffeine leaves his system?

@Toad King

No suprise there, this isn't a new commercial, i think it first came out sometime last year... it's still awsome though ^^
gotta love how he stops that random mugging
This commercial is kinda old. Sure you haven't seen it before?

JDKJ: Which could be explained by both (a) and (b).
Posted 11/07/09 at 10:56am
Austin_Lewis: JDKJ: You forgot C) the fact that, for some reason, every time he did something that would suggest he shouldn't be in the military, let alone an officer, higher ups ignored it or let it slide.
Posted 11/07/09 at 10:51am
JDKJ: Part of the problem is, I believe, that (a) the Army had a lot of time and money already invested in him and which they were unwilling to simply write-off and (b) an increasing need for the type of skills and services he provided.
Posted 11/07/09 at 10:48am
JDKJ: And that even if he was begging not to get cut loose, he was apparently a real good candidate for being cut loose, anyway.
Posted 11/07/09 at 10:11am
JDKJ: @chada: And while Kennedy once noted that there's usually more than enough blame for everyone to get a slice, the possibility that the Army was unwilling to cut loose someone who was asking to get cut loose could be a factor.

ZippyDSMlee: *noms on his feet*..nomnomnomnom*droooll* ...wuuutttttt uuu looking at?

JDKJ: I'm no psychologist, but I'm told that crazy people have a tendency to do crazy things.
Posted 11/07/09 at 10:03am
chadachada321: Whoops, was out of the convo for awhile. I do wonder what type of ammo he used etc, but the real issue is WHY he did it, not HOW
Posted 11/07/09 at 09:56am
JDKJ: But if it turns out that they actually did, they'll have Hell to pay.
Posted 11/07/09 at 09:45am
JDKJ: And I'd tend to rule out the possibilty of FN Herstal supplying restricted ammunition to someone merely because they're ordering it from a military base.
Posted 11/07/09 at 09:37am
JDKJ: I know you don't leave your gated community and get around much in dark alleys, so you may be surprised to learn that there's this thing called "the black market" where, if you've got enough money, ain't too much of anything which can't be bought.
Posted 11/07/09 at 09:36am
Austin_Lewis: Or, maybe he or someone else at the base ordered the SS190 from FN Herstal.
Posted 11/07/09 at 09:32am
Austin_Lewis: the hands of private owners. They run about 300 dollars minimum for a box of 50, and boxes of AP 5.7 are extremely scarce, mainly residing in the hands of Class III stores or individuals who for one reason or another got a demo box of it.
Posted 11/07/09 at 09:30am
Austin_Lewis: There are other firearms that fire the 5.7. However, I too would like to know where he got the ammo and what kind was used. Maybe Hasan, planning not to live through this, went out and bought one the boxes of SS190 that are floating around in
Posted 11/07/09 at 08:44am
JDKJ: And it isn't yet clear what type of ammunition Hasan used. It's strange that he purchased a gun but didn't purchase ammunition for it at the same place and time. Especially because the calibre required is peculiar to the actual gun.
