New ESA Boss Shaking Things Up? #2 Person Moves On

New ESA President Mike Gallagher moved in about a week ago and a highly-placed ESA exec has moved out.

Coincidence? Or, the inevitable fallout from a changing of the guard?

As reported by Kotaku, Senior VP Carolyn Rauch has left the ESA for a position with IDG World Expo, specifically, organizing the E for All Expo. Rauch was widely credited with developing and managing E3 over the years.

Rauch was also a strong supporter of the ESA's Video Game Voters Network. Said Rauch's new boss, IDG CEO Mary Dolaher:

Carolyn is a seasoned executive who brings a broad range of experience to IDG World Expo and we are thrilled to have her on board. She will play a pivotal role in helping us build our event portfolio, as well as build on the success of our existing events.

I wonder who will take her place as VP. I hope she did not leave because of Gallagher. That would be bad.

But E for All is good exposure and I am glad to see her focus full time on that.

Is Gallagher doing something about the NY law yet? He seems pretty quiet.

I have yet to read anything from Gallagher on the matter.

I have sent an email to the ESA calling on them to make a stand on these bills now before they are signed into law.

While it definitely could have been a "changing of the guard" scenario, I wouldn't be at all surprised if that had nothing to do with it. Considering her experience with E3, leaving the ESA for a position organizing E for All sounds perfectly reasonable.

I worry he will replace coherent people with yes men but the ESRB dose not need that unless the funides took over and they are goign to overhaul it and make all M class games AO...LOL
