They also had a female psychologist, can't remember her name, show brain scans. Supposedly of kids who played video games with one being a nonviolent game and the other violent. She talked about how the violent games showed more "negative" activity. You know what??? How about getting boys to play cowboys / indians or cops / robbers with toy guns? Does anyone see a small resemblance between Jack Thompson and Mike Nifong?
Lets look at Nifong for a second. He claimed that three college lacrosse boys raped a black girl. Although he didn't really have evidence, he managed to convince the masses with very convincing fake evidence, such as the semen that the DNA of the accused on it, when in reality it was from four different people who weren't the accused. Admittedly, Thompson hasn't proven his evidence similarly, but still, he gives skewed evidence to the public in the very real idea that they won't read up on it. In the end, everything Nifong had worked for in the case fell apart and he was sentenced to a day in jail and was disbarred. Sound like anyone we know?
But if you think about it, if Nifong was a bit more incompetent, and the situation was changed from rape to video games, that would be someone alike Mr. Thompson.

He exhibits all of the classic traits of a troll, both online, in his job, and whenever he can get his face on the television. He is the epitome of an anti-social nuisance. I'm a UK citizen too, I think the problem with the American system is that they are trying to pin it all on a Media of Convenience, rather than taking the problem seriously and looking at the entire expanse of Media. I am somewhat relived that the woman who is heading this up is someone who puts as much weight on the Childs' point of view as the Adults' one.
If America were trying to push through a law that affected all media, Video Games, Films etc, I'd probably be inclinded not to interfere, that's be up to the US, I suppose what gets my goat is that this isn't about the children, it's so obviously power-playing at the expense of people whose opinion in the US tends to be ignored (i.e. Teenagers). It actually raises the question as the whether these school shootings are caused, in part, by the fact that the Government is more concerned about what they can take away from that generation that what they can give them.
Not to nit-pick or lose sight of your main point, but I can't help but ask: who's keeping this count of gun and knife related killings of under 18’s in the UK this year? Is the number a result of the Times' independent counting or are they relying on the Home Office's British Crime Survey? Because if it is the Crime Survey and we're counting the UK's gun and knife related killings of teenagers between the ages of 13 years and 18 years, then it's likely that Times' number does not include any killings of teenagers between the ages of 13 years and 16 years. In my 'hood, we call that a "short-count."
Then again, he has of late been more accurate with his description of the APA's August '05 resolution.

At the end of the day, these kinds of shows are designed to rally a view point, not to have a balanced discussion.
How Jack Thompson handles his religious brethren using a video game to lure in those who are too young to be playing it will be interesting. Who is he going to criticize for this? Seeing as this is evangelical churches that are using this "tool"? Something tells me that he is going to use the terms "brain washing", not towards evangelicalism, but towards Halo 3.
I'd hope for a bit of balance, but everyone knows there is no hope of that.

What I take offense at is that not only does he attack religion, but that he only looks at half of the picture (not unlike Jack Thompson).
I have a friend, an atheist, with whom I have had a good many interesting conversations on the nature of religion. Insults aren't exchanged, just ideas. Pandralisk, on the other hand, prefers to talk about religion while he looks down his nose at everyone who participates; nevermind that many of us participating in religion are smarter than he.
