Miami anti-game violence activist Jack Thompson isn't the only one connecting last week's shooting rampage at NIU to the popular online FPS Counter-Strike.Fringe political figure Lyndon LaRouche has also linked the game to the NIU tragedy. In a news release bearing the headline International Fascism: Microsoft Will Kill More Youth than Hitler, LaRouche's political action committee writes:
Another young killer, Stephen Kazmierczak, who killed five people and wounded 16 others at Northern Illinois University, was allegedly addicted to Microsoft's Counterstrike killer video-game. "He played a lot of video games, especially Counter-Strike, really loud," said one of his dorm mates...
The intended effect, to foster an environment of mass suicide terrorism in the U.S.A., is a by-product of the 'Revolution in Military Affairs' policy... organized by [financier] Felix Rohatyn and [former Secretary of State] George P. Shultz; the same individuals... are the prime backers of a fascist [NYC Mayor Michael] Bloomberg Presidency.

What all of you are forgetting is the Microsoft owns Sony and Nintendo, through shadow corporations in the underworld. The console wars are all a lie. Also, Microsoft is behind both Blu-Ray AND HD-DVD... and FLORIDE!

The article picture doesn't even come close.
No, it wasn't meant that way.
The WBC could have gone on various blogs and websites and blathered their nonsense and been yelled at, debated with, and counter blathered.
But, instead, they showed up to protest a vigil. Disrespecting the students and staff trying to deal with their grief.
John Bruce wants to do more than chatter on on news programs, websites, and so on. He wants to GO there and dictate to them his personal, religious, and/or political agendas. He wants to directly use them for the purpose of his agenda. The same would be true if the NRA or some anti-gun group or Scientologists wanted to go to NIU and start doing the same thing.
And so to is true of the LaRouches.
I don't want them ignored.
I just don't want these individuals and/or groups to go there and get in the faces of the students, staff, families, communites, etc and start using them directly for their agendas.
Yeah, their chatterings in blogs and such do seem to be also using those who suffered the tragedy for their agendas. But it's not the same as getting in their faces and directly using them.

That's just plain disgusting and I am seriously appalled.
Proposal: Train school teachers and professors as marksmen, teach them to shoot kneecaps and elbows as necessary to neutralize a threat in a non-lethal manner (elbows to disable the arm holding the gun). Also teach them First Aid (some places this is already standard) so that the fellow doesn't bleed out before he can explain himself.
And let the teachers pack heat with a round chambered. See if these folks even act out like this anymore.
