Lyndon LaRouche Sees Microsoft Conspiracy in NIU Shooting

Miami anti-game violence activist Jack Thompson isn’t the only one connecting last week’s shooting rampage at NIU to the popular online FPS Counter-Strike.

Fringe political figure Lyndon LaRouche has also linked the game to the NIU tragedy. In a news release bearing the headline International Fascism: Microsoft Will Kill More Youth than Hitler, LaRouche’s political action committee writes:

Another young killer, Stephen Kazmierczak, who killed five people and wounded 16 others at Northern Illinois University, was allegedly addicted to Microsoft’s Counterstrike killer video-game. “He played a lot of video games, especially Counter-Strike, really loud,” said one of his dorm mates…

The intended effect, to foster an environment of mass suicide terrorism in the U.S.A., is a by-product of the ‘Revolution in Military Affairs’ policy… organized by [financier] Felix Rohatyn and [former Secretary of State] George P. Shultz; the same individuals… are the prime backers of a fascist [NYC Mayor Michael] Bloomberg Presidency.

How I see it, there are morons out there that are not willing to accept that usually the causes might be something else besides video gaming (i.e. bad parenting, mental illness, childhood trauma). People are just looking for a scapegoat to pin the blame onto. Scapegoating is just another method to try and avoid the blame themselves. How I see it, it would be best to BE AN ADULT, STOP MAKING BLAND, POINTLESS EXCUSES, AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THESE THINGS!!!

What the hell is wrong with that dorm mate? Is he the biggest moron in the world, or was he just looking for some payback because of the “really loud” gaming he had to endure?
I heard this dope get interviewed on MSNBC. It’s funny, the anchor who interviewed him was done with him after he mentioned Counter-Strike.
I guess she got her violent video game angle (didn’t challenge it) and decided to move on.
Damn, “journalism” is sad these days.

WOW! Talking about pulling stuff from your arse! A simple check as to who made CS would have been nice. This guy obviously has a hang up about MS, saw this one guy played CS (as did/does how many millions of people?) and tried to connect two dots.

As long as idiots like these are spouting trash, you know there are going to be a few people to believe them. THATS the scary part.

How is Counter Strike at all associated with Microsoft? Because it’s played on computers?

I suppose this means Nvidia, AMD, and Intel are all to blame as counter strike is played on a microsoft software, and their hardware. Thus, by proxy, anything that uses computers is to blame. Computers are used at hopsitals.

Essentially, hospitals are worse than hitler.

    Nice logic.

I ask ONCE AGAIN: why are you giving this nutbag LaRouche free press?

He doesn’t even have the media profile of Jack Thompson. He is the very picture of irrelevance itself. In fact, his only notable trait is being complete poison to every cause and organization he endorses.

Seriously. In his case, he really DOES go away when ignored.

@gs68: OH, GOOD BUM GRAVY, oY! You made a reference to Code Geass, oy! I find that anime to be Sunrise at their best. Plus a little CLAMP for polish. I can’t wait for it to come to Adult Swim so moar people can see how awesome it is; Then, the more people who see it, the more people will get into anime, thus affecting their taste for favoring superior and sophisticated entertainment! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Ok I take that back, these are the kinds of nuts who really believe in bad scifi movies involving computers/the internet/VR/etc being completely real.

And the only part they really added to that was that last kooky bit GP pointed out.

The nutjobs and Thompson always harp on people “training their skillz” on games like Counter-Strike. To put it bluntly, shooting unarmed people at point blank range is EASY. Its not something that needs training. These shooters aren’t tapping into some esoteric skill, they are using basic manual dexterity.

Funny. According yo my VG history, Counter Strike was NOT developed by Microsoft and the US military DID NOT drop a single cent into it’s production. It was made as an addon for Half Life by a couple college guys and Valve was so impressed they wanted to add it.

umm im sure some of his dorm mates would say ‘ oh he really liked cheese whizz and bagels’ if asked what he liked to eat. Does that have ANYTHING to do with the killing spree? well using the same logic apparently so. Ban cheese whizz now.

So here’s my idea: Since all these idiots that go on killing-sprees through campuses wind up offing themselves or getting killed by police, we need something to keep them alive long enough to at least explain why they did it, be it games, or because they were off their meds and it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Proposal: Train school teachers and professors as marksmen, teach them to shoot kneecaps and elbows as necessary to neutralize a threat in a non-lethal manner (elbows to disable the arm holding the gun). Also teach them First Aid (some places this is already standard) so that the fellow doesn’t bleed out before he can explain himself.

And let the teachers pack heat with a round chambered. See if these folks even act out like this anymore.

    Papa Midnight,
No, it wasn’t meant that way.

The WBC could have gone on various blogs and websites and blathered their nonsense and been yelled at, debated with, and counter blathered.

But, instead, they showed up to protest a vigil. Disrespecting the students and staff trying to deal with their grief.

John Bruce wants to do more than chatter on on news programs, websites, and so on. He wants to GO there and dictate to them his personal, religious, and/or political agendas. He wants to directly use them for the purpose of his agenda. The same would be true if the NRA or some anti-gun group or Scientologists wanted to go to NIU and start doing the same thing.

And so to is true of the LaRouches.

    I don’t want them ignored.

I just don’t want these individuals and/or groups to go there and get in the faces of the students, staff, families, communites, etc and start using them directly for their agendas.

Yeah, their chatterings in blogs and such do seem to be also using those who suffered the tragedy for their agendas. But it’s not the same as getting in their faces and directly using them.

Counter-Strike initially was a mod devlopped by Half-Life community how is MS involved… let’s try the conspiracy theory… the fans weren’t truly fans they were Microsoft employees paid to make a game with subliminal messages in it that would corrupt the mind and then take over the world… doesn’t make sense since they alreasy took over the world… but I can’t find a single motive for Microsoft to do this and I’m trying hard.

What all of you are forgetting is the Microsoft owns Sony and Nintendo, through shadow corporations in the underworld. The console wars are all a lie. Also, Microsoft is behind both Blu-Ray AND HD-DVD… and FLORIDE!
