Jack Thompson,
Fox News and the Chicago Transit Authority want to ban bus ads for Grand Theft Auto IV.
But these multi-story ads adorn the graceful Hotel Figueroa in downtown Los Angeles and, somehow, the republic still stands...

Eat it.
That is all.
I could just imagine if Jack Thompson was either living or working in a building that had a big GTA 4 ad hanging on the building. HE WOULD REALLY BE GOING CRAZY
lol that would probably give joke thompson a fucking heart attack!
I could just see Jack Thompson outside of the building rallying about them having the images for children.
Is the most badass thing I've ever seen.
We should definitely drape one of these over Jack's lawn and see the fun unfold.
Lol
I hope JT shits himself to death seeing this! Fudge the bus ads, this is epic. And those are some of the coolest ads I have ever seen. The only thing that would top this is broadcasting this on the clouds, that would rock.
It almost makes me want to play GTAIV,but alas,I don't care much for the game.
"To the retards it may concern (sorry for the oxymoron):
You have banners on your hotel advertising pr0n to teh kiddies. You have two hours to take them down. OR ELSE.
Jack Thompson, vigilante, and you're not"
Sadly, aside from the word 'vigilante' and the chatspeak, i'm not exaggerating what that'll probably be.
What did I say earlier in the last thread? Taking down a bus stop ad is nothing when you've got ads like this!
touche!
We all know the message though; It's a big old fuck you to Jacko
Maybe one day we can have GTA ads beamed directly into our head.
Sure, they might us brain tumors the size of footballs.
But won't it totally kick ass?
Viva la revolution de los jugadores! (Long live the gaming revolution!)
OOOOOOOooo! Just wait until the Project Origin ads come out! That'll get the PTA reeling.
Note: I'd put that on my building, too.
Yeah, me neither. Now MGS4, that would be a no question situation. :)
Kinda reminds me of the trick you had to do for the movie studio in vice city, beaming the ad onto the side of a building with a searchlight.
When jack finally snaps & tries the jump off a building suicide route, we should try to catch him in one of those banners. It'll finally solve the question of whether jack's hate for GTA is stronger than the power of gravity, he may end up suspended in mid air...
"Nature will always find a way."
In this case, human nature.
Perhaps LA and New York are moral cesspools beyond hope of redemption. (I hear there are even homosexualists living there…)
I've heard they respect women too! Clearly there's insanity at work!
F*ck you.
How...dare you!
...You forgot Texas and Florida
I am getting very mad with these people trying to violate my freedom to play the kind of games I want.
a)Piss him off
b)Instant-controversy and word of mouth publicity
c)PISS HIM OFF
Just thinking as an offhand, they could put a poster for a different product on each wall and rotate the apartment blocks by 90' every 30 seconds like those electronic billboards, that'd be cool, well, for everyone who didn't live in them ;)
and when I say fit I mean tantrum

Hence my first post above. If you're not familiar with his 'orders' before, he actually DOES talk like that to people/retailers/etc.
Example: "Best Buy, remove all copies of GTA:SA from your store by 5 PM today, or else. If you don't you're part of the conspiracy against me." (or some other store and/or game. He usually sends these things, like, at noon on the days in question with some miniscule window for people to even check their mail, let alone bend to the will of something that's no better than hatemail.)
For some reason he thinks his lisence to practice law is the legal equivalent of a police badge or something.
The closest thing I've ever done to GTA was Oblivion. I was never sure if I was doing the right quests or the right order or any thing. Always felt like I was missing something. Not sure if this game will do that to me or not.
Heh, oh behave. :D
Now, what would be funny is if a neighbor of his pulled out two flags an hung them up on their porch:
A US Flag
A flag with the same GTA IV ad as on that Flordia bus stop in a prior article.
Now THAT would be hilarious!

im in for the hi res pic too
Exactly, he is always saying to people that they have a certain amount of time to reply or he will take action. An example I really remember was when there was a mission in GTA 4 announced in a game magazine that has to do with an attorney and Jack Thompson said that he demands that they take him out of the game within 48 hours. He said that he will not tolerate his life getting threatened. He does not even know if the attorney is him in the game for him to act that way.
In it the poster shows some ads for the Sopranos that ran on busses and one that I had forgotten about that had an arm hanging out of the trunk of taxis with a Sopranos bumper sticker next to it.
If Sopranos can advertise by trying to make people -- including *gasp* children! -- that there is a dead person in a trunk then I think that GTA4 can have ads up on buses and at bus stops.
I'd say it's another way of how video games are coming into their own in mainstream culture. But it would be cool to see other kinds of games being advertised in this nature.
Now THAT'S the First Ammendment in action :D
I'll mark this up as a win for us then
AMEN, BROTHER!!! (In the battle of Gamer Society V. Thompson, we are all brothers and sisters)
