GTA IV Culture: More Parodies & a GTA IV Munny

April 28, 2008
Last week we gave a mention to Minusworld's tongue-in-cheek GTA IV Activity Book for Kids.

This morning we note that Crackle.com has posted a pretty funny GTA IV parody video (left).

Minusworld takes another (not quite as clever) bite of the GTA IV apple with a satirical article explaining why Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper is begging Rockstar to create Grand Theft Auto: Montreal as its next installment in the series

Finally, an artist by the name of Scave has apparently created a custom GTA IV munny (left) for Rockstar.

The munny features, of course, GTA IV protagonist Niko Bellic.

Be aware there's some adult humour involved, Not Safe for Work.

The link to the video and the activity book are the same.

and the Montreal link appears to lead to a dead page.

404 on the montreal page

Every page on Minus World gives a 404 when you try to click through. But I'm not sure I wanted to read another "lol all Canadians are beer-swilling lumberjacks" article anyway, eh?

i would like to see a grand theft auto in another country......

[...] GTA:IV is out tomorrow, which means I’ll be picking it up in a year or so when I eventually cave in and buy a 360. Already, the parodies are piling up, and one in particular caught my eye: GP mentioned that The -Minus World had a piece on Stephen Harper trying to make GTA:Montreal happen. Can’t link through to the main article because comedy apparently demands bad web design that gives 404s on every page, but from the introductory description (Canadians riding golden eagles, which they no doubt wingjacked) it’s probably a trip through the “51st State” mentality, where all of us Stalinist Canuckistanis are beer-swilling lumberjacks with lisps, perpetually trying to dig ourselves out of the snow that falls whenever the sun goes down. Eh? Eh?! Truly, when you have run out of George W. Bush jokes, you come to Canada and avail yourself of the abundant stereotype fields. Never mind that Toronto is further south than St. Paul, Minnesota; if they knew that, they’d just use it as ammunition against Minnesota. [...]

@lothar

Um like Grand Theft Auto: London? :|

HAHA! Montreal.

beemohMiyamoto seems to have been awardsed something- he was just trending worldwide on Twitter, and all the tweets were in what looked like Spanish.05/23/2012 - 7:07am
Michael ChandraThink so yes, since the judge didn't allow them to add ips at will. :P05/23/2012 - 6:23am
ConsterTPB works fine for me (didn't work the day of the verdict). Apparently they switched IP addresses, meaning Brein has to re-sue to have that added to the block-this list?05/22/2012 - 8:16pm

Andrew EisenI still say the particular word or phrase the MPAA uses to describe what it's fighting against is the least of its problems.05/22/2012 - 1:12pm
ZippyDSMleeMPAA finally admits piracy is not the same as stealing, kinda http://tinyurl.com/chtcf8p05/22/2012 - 11:55am
ddrfr33k@EZK Bwahahaha! @Michael: Yeah, several news sources have said that google DNS can bypass the TPB roadblocks.05/22/2012 - 11:38am
Michael ChandraWeird, I can still visit piratebay. Wonder if Google DNS is related to that, or I simply have an exotic ISP?05/22/2012 - 9:03am
Lisa PhamNo harm done, E. Zachary Knight. :)05/22/2012 - 4:50am

Lisa PhamIanC - if you read/looked at the report (PDF and written) then you'd see where they failed and why. Some games have come close to passing and some have passed. The list of games evaluated. http://www.reclaimyourgame.com/content.php/18-RYG-Evaluations05/21/2012 - 5:49pm
Andrew EisenMaybe I'll luck out and the Wii version won't have this retail exclusive DLC nonsense.05/21/2012 - 5:12pm
ZippyDSMleeBought new guitar...trying to find a nice DDR3/mobo combo under 200$ sicne I need new ram thats 100$....fun times..... picked up shadows of the damned tho!!05/21/2012 - 4:56pm
E. Zachary KnightYeah, that's how I feel about retail exclusive DLC too. ;)05/21/2012 - 3:37pm
RedMageThat's what I started to figure too. They seem to have trouble coming up with an effective scare tactic. At one point they referred to it as "online looting" which just sounds stupid.05/21/2012 - 3:34pm
E. Zachary KnightOf all the sucky suckiness that ever sucked. Lego Batman 2 will suffer from sucky retailer exclusive DLC. Suck! http://tinyurl.com/ckq67vg05/21/2012 - 3:30pm
