MSNBC has unveiled an interactive online game which lets players make their best guesses about who Republican presidential candidate John McCain will select as his running mate.
Republican Veepstakes uses an NCAA Tournament-style bracket system that calculates player votes and advances winning candidates to the next round during weekly Tuesday updates.
32 candidates are listed for the starting round. These include well-known Republicans from politics (Mitt Romney, Charlie Crist), big business (Meg Whitman, Michael Dell) and the military (Gen. David Petraeus). We also note that Texas Gov. Rick Perry, scheduled to deliver the keynote speech at E3, is paired against former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge in Round One.
The game is hosted by MSNBC's Chuck Todd and David Gregory and will run through June 24th.

Jeb Bush??? NOOOOOOO! Not another bush! Fuck, its like the world can't get enough of crappy sequels...
Don't judge Jeb by his brother, or even his father. I lived in Florida for almost all of his administration as Governor, and let me tell you, HE'S the Bush that should have followed George H. W., not the Texan.
That's got to be a joke (the inclusion of Jeb Bush, I mean). The Republicans are desperate to avoid any connection between their candidates this year and Mr. 28%-Approval-Rating who currently occupies the White House. 100% not even in consideration.
Oh, but wouldn't it be wonderful, though? Millions upon millions of yard signs and bumper stickers proudly proclaiming MCCAIN-BUSH. It would be the best advertising Obama could hope for.
Mel Martinez is not on there, I'm surprised
I was glad to see Colin Powell there, but not GEN Petreaus. GEN Petraeus is doing too much good in the Middle East to waste time as VP.

So speak I, some random guy.
Lieberman a #2 seed? Damnit, every year the selection committee gets it wrong!

The Mammon Industry
Why is Perry on there? He's currently pissing off both native business and the farmers down here in Texas, so why would he be a good pick?
The Takeaway also has a VP stock-trading game on Facebook called "The 2008 Veepstakes" (http://apps.facebook.com/veepstakes). The stock prices are based on coverage from the blogs and mainstream media. There are more than 50 potential running mates for John McCain and Barack Obama. Right now, Tim Pawlenty is at the top of McCain's "Veepstakes" list, and Kathleen Sebelius is on top of Obama's list.
