That must have been the happiest day of Jack's pathetic life. I'm amazed he hasn't gloated yet.

They should have built sentries and dispensers...

Yes I have a WIP. Just wait and see.

Re: Taliban Burns Down Pakistani Video Game Shop

Everybody needs to play more video games or the terrorists win.

Don't worry, they were just acting out video game violence.

Remember kiddies, video games cause all violence, all historical wars, erectile dysfunction, stroke, HIV, sonic gonorhea, and extreme legislator stupidity.

Well, they do hate all forms of civilization past the stoneage so it was only a matter of time before they pulled this one.

Yyyyyyyyyeah, the thing is, those are things I support, or second, as it is said. I was simply voicing my support. A LoZ game pitting Link against the Taliban has OVER 9000 percent of my support. Don't like it? There's the door.

Re: Taliban Burns Down Pakistani Video Game Shop

I wonder how long before JT praises them and says this needs to happen in the US

He does endorse terrorism after all

Re: Taliban Burns Down Pakistani Video Game Shop

http://udx.livejournal.com/429295.html

He's already endorsed the Islamic terrorists once.

Geaux Saints, Geaux Tigers, Geaux Hornets, Jack Thompson can geaux chase a chupacabra.

Geaux Saints, Geaux Tigers, Geaux Pelicans. Even through the darkest days, this fire burns always.

Re: Taliban Burns Down Pakistani Video Game Shop

The sad thing is, he WOULD do that. He already said posters here should be legally executed, asking terrorists to do the job isn't that much more deranged.

But then again, this would shut down the 'simulators that terrorists train on' retoric as well...

Re: Taliban Burns Down Pakistani Video Game Shop

Knowing him He'll endorse them to destroy T2, I do think JT is a Terrorist

Figurtivly speaking of course.

Now THAT is a hatred for video games. 0_o

Re: Taliban Burns Down Pakistani Video Game Shop

Wikipedia had info of this hatred of videogames since before JT tried to equate us with them

I really should keep track of the things I call that turn out to be true, I lost count several times

Re: Taliban Burns Down Pakistani Video Game Shop

Atleast these people admit to their deeds, the US has killed 100,000 people (either directly, or by proxy) since they invaded Iraq, and still try and claim they are doing "good". These terrorists are the only ones who don't seem to be in denial.

Re: Taliban Burns Down Pakistani Video Game Shop

Should we put in the Politicians and personalities: game stores, gamers that are victims of Islamic Terrorism

It says that It's was a mater of time before the Islamic terrorists got thier sorry butts on the hall of shame

Re: Taliban Burns Down Pakistani Video Game Shop

I don't recall the IRA having a thing against free expresion of ideas. Obviously we hate all terorrists, but THIS is why Islamic terrorism is especially difficult to make ground against--because it is rooted in a totalitarian mind-**** ideology instead of the more normal motivations for terrorism like money or independence.

Re: Taliban Burns Down Pakistani Video Game Shop

Those guys are truly in it for the money and power, they just use the mind-messing religious ideology to get poor, weak-minded people to be their lackeys. Why would a leader sacrifice his own work and legacy to do dirty work?

Re: Taliban Burns Down Pakistani Video Game Shop

belive me, when religion's involved people can do great good, or great evil.  though if you said religious terrorism it would be fairer than islamic terrorism.

Huh, same currency used in the Legend of Zelda series.  Hmm...

You know, Link could fight the Taliban in the next game.  That would shake up the series a bit.

MattsworknameAndrew: Thats kind fo the issue at hand, Accountable is a matter of context. For a media group, it means accountable to its reader. to a goverment, to it's voters and tax payer, to a company, to it's share holders.07/29/2015 - 2:02am
Andrew EisenAnd again, you keep saying "accountable." What exactly does that mean? How is Gamasutra not accounting for the editorial it published?07/28/2015 - 11:47pm
Andrew EisenMatt - I disagree with your 9:12 and 9:16 comment. There are myriad ways to address content you don't like. And they're far easier to execute in the online space.07/28/2015 - 11:47pm
Andrew EisenMatt - Banning in the legal sense? Not that I'm aware but there have certainly been groups of gamers who have worked towards getting content they don't like removed.07/28/2015 - 11:45pm
DanJAlexander's editorial was and continues to be grossly misrepresented by her opponents. And if you don't like a site, you stop reading it - same as not watching a tv show. They get your first click, but not your second.07/28/2015 - 11:40pm

Mattsworknameyou HAVE TO click on it. So they get the click revenue weather you like what it says or not. as such, the targeting of advertisers most likely seemed like a good course of action to those who wanted to hold those media groups accountable for one reason07/28/2015 - 9:16pm
MattsworknameBut, when you look at online media, it's completely different, with far more options, but far few ways to address issues that the consumers may have. In tv, you don't like what they show, you don't watch. But in order to see if you like something online07/28/2015 - 9:12pm

MattsworknameAndrew, Im asking as a practical question, Have gamers, as a group, ever asked for a game, or other item, to be banned. Im trying to see if theres any cases anyone else remembers cause I cant find or remember any.07/28/2015 - 8:55pm
Andrew EisenAs mentioned, Gamasutra isn't a gaming site, it's a game industry site. I don't feel it's changed its focus at all. Also, I don't get the sense that the majority of the people who took issue with that one opinion piece were regular readers anyway.07/28/2015 - 8:43pm
