Operation Supply Drop Sends Biggest Game Supply Drop Yet to Troops in Afghanistan

October 7, 2011

Operation Supply Drop's latest supply drop for U.S. servicemen and women stationed in Afghanistan is a rousing success. What started out as a request for a console and some games ended with two boxes totaling 93 lbs. packed with all kinds of donated goodies being sent to Northern Afghanistan. The charity dedicated to supporting our Armed forces deployed overseas received a lot of help from video game companies and organizations including EA, Activision, the Entertainment Consumer Association, PopCap, Reverb Communications, The Behemoth, Kalypso, Warner Brothers, Robot Entertainment, Bethesda, RDS Industries, KontrolFreek, Rockstar, Valve, Hyperkin, Runic Games, Plantronics, and Microsoft. In addition a ton of random donations came in as well. The entire cache of goodies was sent to Ryan, a Blackhawk pilot and his support team stationed in northern Afghanistan.

The donations were also helped by Joystiq's Justin McElroy, the gang at GameCrush.com, and many others that helped drive donations for this operation called "DRAGON PUNCH."

You can learn more about the good work that Operation Supply Drop does by visiting the official web site on Front Towards Gamers.
