UK racing game developer Eutechnyx has managed to secure £1.8 million from the UK government. The studio says that it will use the money to create up to 190 new jobs at the company. The firm's plan is to create a publishing operation for its new online racing game Auto Club Revolution, currently in closed beta and scheduled for release in 2012.
"We are exceptionally pleased that the Government has appreciated the unique opportunity that Auto Club Revolution presents in the world of online games," said Darren Jobling, Eutechnyx COO.
"This investment will allow us to continue recruiting the cream of the development and publishing talent from around the world to join the team, and to really push forward with an innovative and genre-changing online product."
The cash injections Regional Growth Fund, and is added to the £6 million already raised for the game from Prime Ventures and the North East Accelerator Fund.
"The Government is investing in companies and projects to help them grow and create the jobs we need," added Creative Industries Minister Ed Vaizey. "Auto Club Revolution is an exciting project that promises to add to the UK's highly successful video games sector."
