Dan Porter, CEO of OMGPOP, will be a featured speaker at the 2012 Gamification Summit in San Francisco (June 19 – 21). Porter will talk about the techniques his company used to make their ultra popular Pictionary-like drawing game, Draw Something, so successful among users.
According to a PC Magazine article earlier this week, OMGPOP stole the top spot on Facebook from Zynga's Words With Friends; Draw Something had 12.2 million daily average users (DAU) according to the latest AppData figures.
Porter joins over 40 other speakers from companies such as United Airlines, Google, Microsoft, Ogilvy, Cisco, eBay, NBC/Universal, Salesforce, JD Power and more. Some of the topics that will be discussed include Foldit's initiative that led to 45,000 people working on a cure for AIDS, NBC's methods for driving millions of users to engage online, and StackOverflow's use of credibility points to create community.
Dave Anderson – Managing Director of Business Development and Strategy for United Airlines’ MileagePlus program, and JP Rangaswami – Chief Scientist for Salesforce.com will be this year's keynote speakers.
