Tanks in EA’s Tiberium Alliances Look Eerily Similar to Tanks in Warhammer 40K

Two Reddit users have compared the tanks from Games Workshop's tabletop game Warhammer 40,000 with tanks in EA's free-to-play online strategy title Tiberium Alliances. The side-by-side comparison shows that the tanks in EA's games look suspiciously similar to the tanks from Games Workshop’s popular game universe.

Reddit users Bro-jangles and corevirus posted pictures that show Tiberium Alliances' Grinder and Bombard tanks and the Ork Bonecruncha and Imperial Guard Baneblade. The source pictures for the Tiberium Alliances vehicles had been released as promotional wallpaper art for the game.

When asked for a comment on the comparison, EA told GameSpot, "we are looking into this and will get back to you."

Apparently they are still looking into it as of this writing.

While EA does license some content from Warhammer maker Games Workshop, it does not hold the license to the Warhammer 40,000 franchise. EA operates the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning MMO, and the free-to-play Facebook game Warhammer Online: Wrath of Heroes.

I doubt this is an intentional ripoff, it could easily be that one of the artists is a 40K fan, or that it's a design that looks very military.

Did you look at the pictures? We aren't talking similar we are talking 'identical'

My knowledge of military hardware is pretty limited, and I'm inclined to agree that a tank is a 'box with gun on top', but the similarities are ridiculously obvious here, this goes way beyond 'looks a bit like'.
