The Australian arm of UK games retailer GAME made headlines on Monday when it told customers that it couldn’t honor its pre-orders for Diablo III. As one might imagine, this was not great for the company's reputation amongst customers, but luckily Blizzard stepped in and saved the day. This news came after news on Monday that it had entered into administration and had named PriceWaterhouseCoopers as the administrator.
On Tuesday Australian Minister Bill Shorten publicly expressed his concerns over 500+ jobs that could be lost in the country in GAME closes shop, and urged PwC to do whatever it could to save the company.
We end the week with word that PriceWaterhouseCoopers has outlined the administration process to GAME creditors and that there will be two meetings with creditors during the process. The first meeting take place simultaneously in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne next Wednesday at 11:30am.
