Sony is on the fence about having a major presence at the popular European gaming event Gamescom later this year. Sony Computer Entertainment's German communications director Guido Alt told the German arm of GamesIndustry International that a decision has yet to be made on Gamescom and that they are still negotiating terms with the event's organizers.
"We have to judge if it makes sense to exhibit at gamescom every year," said Alt. "We are still negotiating with Koelnmesse. What I can say is that we did not sign a contract so far."
While Sony seeks better terms, Nintendo has decided that it won't be attending this year's event in Cologne, Germany.
We will have more on this story as it develops, but it would not be a good thing for European gamers if Sony and other major players decided to bow out of this year's event.
