Aisha Tyler to Haters: Go F**K Yourselves

Aisha Tyler, the co-star of the popular FX animated series Archer, has a word or two for YouTube and Twitter commenters saying derogatory things about her being a fake gamer and her E3 Ubisoft Press Conference performance: I was a gamer before you were born. In an open letter on her Facebook page Tyler explains in great detail why she's a real gamer. After listing all her time spent at multiple E3 events, her work with the video game industry, her time as a panelist at events like Comic-Con and more, Tyler offers this message to all the haters:

So to all the haters out there who claim I don't play;
To the GAF dicks,
Gamespot trolls,
To every illiterate racist douchebag on Youtube:
Flame away. Go nuts.
Post every jackass comment your heart desires.
I'll still be playing when your mom's kicked you out of her basement
and you have to sell your old-ass console
and get a real job.
For now, I say to you respectfully,
and I mean this from the bottom of my heart,

Yeah, same here, she might not be a huge star or anything but she isn't a complete nobody. Gamespot's stream comments were pretty awful during Ubisoft's presentation, I ended up disabling it.

I’ve known of Aisha for a long time. Watched her comedy specials and saw her in some movies. She’s a fantastic actress and person.

She was chosen by Bungie to brief players of Halo: Reach in some videos and people reacted saying she was just acting about knowing the “Haloz”. She never said “Haloz”, they were just fooling around.

I actually heard of Archer but I didn’t know she was apart of it, sweet. Added to my queue.

Archer, man.  If you haven't yet seen Archer, stop whatever you're doing right now, hop on Netflix, and get started.  Trust me.

Not that I'm saying this makes her a huge celebrity who can shit all over the little people, I'm just saying go watch Archer right now.  😉

If she was the one doing Ubisoft's E3 conference…I'm going on heresy here because I missed that one, than isn't it because she or whoever the female presenter was was just plain horrible? As in, playing up the "booth babe" anesthetic as an embarrassment to other girl gamers horrible?

while normally i'd say anyone working with Ubi is a sellout and probably a fake, she does have some history aside that makes her far more legit IMO even without hearing her side otherwise.

Ubi loves its fake "gamers", or has in the past, used "female gamers" to push its products despite you could clearly see it being faked half the time, if not all. I'd call to question if the fragdolls are even real anymore, i played against them back in the days of Q2 and they were good, but from what Ubi's "shown" of them i'm skeptical that its the real FD's anymore and not some hired troupe

as to Aisha herself.. always seen her name in the opening creds of archer, but for some reason it didn't click this was the same person at first (didn't help i saw Kotaku's article first and it had some other persons picture up…)

Listen, as far as I know, she’s been getting harassed since Bungie had her do some videos explaining Halo: Reach to players.

So she’s tired of people harassed and has the freedom of speech just like the people that verbally attack her or yell at her at E3.

She has the right to flip people off when they are attack her. At least she’s not pulling a Spike Lee and posting people’s addresses on the twitter.

I'm perplexed. She's being called out as a fake gamer, for some reason that's not explained, and which is no one's concern but her own, so she simply tells them to get fucked. How exactly is anyone able to make her out as the bad guy in this? Also, whether she's relatively unknown as a celebrity of sorts is irrelevant to the argument, isn't it?

I had to go on IMDB to find that out.  Even then, I still don't think I've seen any of her work, at least to completion.  Who the hell watched The Santa Clause 3?  I mean, willingly?

And then going off about how she's a celebrity, and she gets to do celebrity things, so the rest of us can just **** right off?

And by the way, she may have seven years on me, but that only means she got to play Defender in the arcades when she was ten, while I started a whole year later on a 2600 when I was four.  That seven year difference?  All it gives her is a few years of Pong and easier access to the arcade in the golden age.

She must be a real gamer. Listen to that mouth. She had a chance to give herself some credibility and blew it. Nice one, Aisha! You sure put the doubters in their place!
