Kinect-Enabled Ads Coming to Xbox Live This Fall

June 15, 2012 -

As if you didn't have enough distractions on Xbox Live, Microsoft has decided to create new ads that take advantage of the Xbox 360's motion sensing Kinect technology. Coming to Xbox Live this fall, the ads (called NUads) will let consumers choose an ad-inspired adventure - a little mini-game you can play while you soak in the deliciousness of being served up information about this or that product.

Microsoft has released a video (to your left) that shows consumers just how these little adventures will work, though I am not sure what consumers get out of it besides engaging in some casual ad-sponsored shenanigans. Toyota, Unilever and Samsung Mobile USA have already inked deals to use these new ads on Xbox Live.

I find nothing revolutionary about this except that it is on the Kinect and the amount of effort these guys are putting into making it look interesting is ridiculous.
