Skyrim Dawnguard DLC Comes to English Speaking Territories June 26

The official blog for Bethesda offers a reminder that the first major expansion to Elder Scrolls IV: Skyrim will be released tomorrow in English speaking territories. While fans in the U.S. and other countries surely welcome this news, players in other parts of the world where English is not the main language (and French, Italian, German, or Spanish is) will have to wait a few more weeks – or sometime in mid-July.

On the plus side, Bethesda announced that the 1.6 update, featuring mounted combat and Kinect support, is being released today on Xbox 360 for those regions. I guess that's something…

The new DLC, "Dawnguard," adds a new faction questline, new locations, weapons, creatures and more. The storyline focuses on the secret vampire group known as "Dawnguard." Vampire Lord Harkon has decided to use one of the most power artifacts in the world – an Elder Scroll – to block out the sun forever, allowing vampires to walk the earth 24 hours a day. Players can either fight against the group or join their ranks and become a Vampire Lord themselves.

Dawnguard costs 1600 Microsoft Points. No word on when the PC and PS3 versions of the DLC will be released…
