Square Enix Employees Have Higher Average Salaries than Nintendo or Sony

June 29, 2012 -

You would think that employees in Japan that work for the likes of Nintendo or Sony would make more money than someone who works at Square Enix, but it turns out that the opposite is true. According to Nensyu Lab's top salary chart (as uncovered by Andriasang), Square Enix employees get an average salary of ¥21.68 million ($272,384.40). Sony and Nintendo employees are paid ¥9.23 million ($116,232.40) and ¥9.14 million ($115.099.10), respectively. These salary figures are based on government filings, which means these average pay numbers for Square Enix employees are not typical for all employees at the company.

The salary survey also reveals that Sega Sammy employees earn an average of ¥8,220,000 ($103,486), Konami employees earn ¥6,780,000 ($85,371), Namco Bandai employees earns ¥6,400,000 ($80,577), Tecmo Koei employees earn ¥6,150,000 ($77,418), and Capcom employees earn ¥5,710,000 ($71,891).

Re: Square Enix Employees Have Higher Average Salaries than ...

Is that the median or the mean average? (Personally, it looks most likely to be the mean, which means that highly-paid executives can easily wreck whatever value can be obtained from the numbers.)
