Blizzard Details Comic-Con 2012 Plans

Blizzard did not attend the Electronic Entertainment Expo in June and it announced that it wouldn't be hosting a BlizzCon event this year, but the company seems to be ramping up its attendance at events that allow actual fans (as opposed to just industry professionals and games journalists) to experience its games and culture first-hand. Recently it announced that it would be in full force at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany later this year, and today it revealed its plans for Comic-Con 2012 in San Diego at the end of this week (July 12 – 15).

First Blizzard will be hosting a panel discussion on July 12 in Room 6BCF from 2:15 p.m. – 3:15 p.m. to highlight its various upcoming game products. We assume this means that it will highlight various expansions for World of Warcraft and Starcraft II at the very least.

On July 14 Blizzard will be hosting an autograph signing at the Insight Editions Booth (#1035) for the "art of Blizzard" from 4-5:30 p.m. with Chris Metzen and Sam Didier. The Art of Blizzard book offers an exclusive look at the "ideas and imagery that have defined some of the industry’s most critically acclaimed games," according to Blizzard. On Saturday from 10-11:00 a.m. Blizzard will host an autograph signing for the "Book of Cain" with Micky Neilson, Flint Dille, Matt Burns. Also on July 14, there will be a Christie Golden Autograph Signings from 7-8 p.m. at the Cryptozoic Store (411 Market Street) and at the Mysterious Galaxy Booth (#1119) from 4-5 p.m.

Also of interest to Blizzard fans: those that drop by the DK Publishing booth (#2913) can get a promotional discount code towards the upcoming Mists of Pandaria strategy guide from Brady Games. The Sideshow Collectibles (#1929) will also be showing off sculptures featuring characters from the Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo franchises, including the latest figure from Diablo III, to be revealed during the Blizzard Product Showcase panel.
