Nintendo to Showcase 3DS XL, But Not Wii U, at Comic-Con 2012

Nintendo will be at Comic-Con 2012 showing off the freshly announced Nintendo 3DS XL, the company announced today. It will not be showing off the Wii U for some reason…

In addition to Nintendo's show floor booth (located at #5135), it will host a Nintendo Gaming Lounge in the San Diego Ballroom of the Marriott Marquis & Marina Hotel – conveniently located right next door to the convention center. The lounge will be open to the public and you can stop by even if you aren't attending Comic-Con. The company will showcase games for the Wii, 3DS, and DS, but for some reason the Wii U won't be shown off in any form or fashion.

3DS / Nintendo 3DS XL games on display and playable include New Super Mario Bros. 2, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate, Heroes of Ruin, Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance], and Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes.

Pokémon Conquest will be the only DS game available for play, while the Wii game line-up includes Just Dance 4 and Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition.

Comic-Con 2012 takes place July 12 – 15. For more info, check out
