Square Enix President: Final Fantasy Versus XIII Still In Development

Last week it was reported that Square Enix had abandoned development on Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Final Fantasy fans put on sackcloth and ashes. Hands were wrung raw. Prayers were said. Incense were burned to dark gods and souls were offered up to creatures that slither in the underbelly of the universe. It is too bad that those reports weren't completely accurate.

Square Enix President Yoichi Wada took to Twitter to say that those silly rumors were false. Yoichi Wada told fans that Final Fantasy Versus XIII has not been canned by Square Enix. Further he we says that he recently attended a meeting about the game and that he was surprised at how well it is shaping up.

The one thing Yoichi Wada did not say is when the game will actually be released…

Oh, and those of you who might have made deals with other-worldly entities to ensure its release – I’m guessing you can't get a refund for what you sold. Perhaps an online petition can help.

I dunno it seems a hell of alot deeper in everything than FF13 or 12 really.

I would be less fond of a new mechanic based FF game, they may mix all the bad thigns of FF 11,10,10-2,13,13-2 to become a dreadnought of fail. Kinda like most KH games if your not a fan boy.

    (waits for incoming down votes)

Heh, I was reading a bit about the re-release of FF7 for PC, and Square said that they'll do the remake of the entire game if they make a game better than it.

    So far, hasn't happened.
