Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and Birmingham City University Team Up for Scholarships

July 25, 2012 -

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has teamed up with Birmingham City University (Birmingham, England) to give students in the Gamer Camp program the opportunity to receive scholarships and a job with Sony. This is the second year that Sony has given university game development students access to its PlayStation Academic Scholarships program.

"Access to Sony development hardware, experienced industry support and these PlayStation Academic Scholarships provides Gamer Camp students with an unparalleled educational opportunity," Gamer Camp co-founder Guy Wilday told GamesIndustry International.

Four scholarships are up for grabs this year. Winners of the scholarship will have half of their Gamer Camp fees paid for and one lucky student will be offered a six-month paid position at one of Sony's studios. Sign-ups for the scholarship program are available until August 1 at www.bcu.ac.uk.
