The Academy of Interactive Entertainment (Lafayette, Louisiana) will be hosting its annual Independent Game Developers Festival (iFest) at the Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise(LITE) Center on Saturday August 4th (10am – 5pm).
The event will host a number of workshops and talks aimed at developing games, managing small independent teams, using various types of game technology to build games, player engagement, and much more. The event is supported by a variety of local and international companies including Big World Technology, Unity, Digifest South, Red Ticket Games, Touch Studios, Opportunity Machine and others.
You can register to attend by visiting www.ifest.us. Admission is free, so if you are an indie developer in the Lafayette area or someone interested in getting in to the games industry, iFest is probably a good place to start.
On a slightly related note, AIE will have a booth at GeekGirlCon 2012 (booth #102) on August 11. You can learn more about that event at www.geekgirlcon.com.
