While other retailers are loudly proclaiming that they are offering pre-orders for Nintendo's Wii U, one online retailer seems to be thumbing its nose at Nintendo's latest console and the consumers who might want to lock a purchase down early. Amazon is telling customers that pre-orders for the Wii U are "not available at Amazon.com at this time," and are providing no explanation why.
In an email sent to customers with the subject line "Your Request for Information on Wii U Availability," Amazon told customers who signed up to be notified when pre-orders opened that the system remained unavailable to preorder.
"Unfortunately the Wii U console is not available at Amazon.com at this time but please check back in the future, as availability may change," the e-mail read.
While Wii U preorders are not available on the online retailer's US or Canadian sites, its French and UK sites are offering pre-orders for both hardware configurations.
