UK-based game-related charity GamesAid announced the organizations it will support for the remainder of 2012. Voting for which charities to support ended on September 23 with such UK-based organizations as Accuro, Action for Kids, CHIVA (Children’s HIV Association), Dreamflight, Family Holiday Association, Friends of Chelsea Children’s Hospital School, Jigsaw4u, Julia’s House, Lifelites, MAPS – Sutton Borough Volunteer Bureau, Scottish Huntington’s Association (Youth Service), Small Steps, SpecialEffect, and The Willow Foundation vying for some much needed cash.
The charities selected to receive £36,000 each are Action For Kids, Jigsaw4U, Small Steps, Special Effect and The Willow Foundation. The money was raised by individuals and companies working across the games industry. These funds were also raised through annual events like Gem Golf and Spa Day, the Gamescom to Brighton bike ride, the Sega cricket match, Rising Star Games Vets Football and the Eurogamer Expo party.
Congratulations to all of the charities selected for this year.
