Report: Foxconn Strikes Affect iPhone 5 Production

According to this GamesIndustry International report, thousands of Foxconn employees continue to protest at various locations in China. The labor strike is the result of complaints about working conditions, which workers say have not been adequately addressed by the company. In case you have forgotten Foxconn helps build a variety of high end electronics for multiple companies including Apple, Samsung, Microsoft and many others.

The strike began at Foxconn's Zhengshou factory, but has managed to spread to three other facilities, according to workers' rights group China Labor Watch. Between 3,000 – 4,000 employees had joined in the strike, but most went back to work after the company threatened to fire anyone who continued to be absent from work on Saturday. The company employs about 1.1 million people in China. The general consensus is that these strikes likely affected the production lines for the iPhone 5 and Apple's iPad Mini, which it hasn't officially announced yet… We'll have more on this story as it develops…
