Spike TV Video Game Award Nominees Announced

Spike TV has announced the nominees for the tenth annual Spike TV Video Game Awards. Borderlands 2, Halo 4 and Journey lead the pack, each earning seven nominations. The Spike TV VGAs will be hosted by Samuel L. Jackson and are scheduled to take place Friday, Dec. 7 at 9 p.m. ET. The annual awards are broken down into 30 different categories ranging from Game of the Year to Best Performance by a Human Male and Female.

In the Game of the Year category it's a battle among such high profile games as Assassin's Creed 3, Dishonored, Mass Effect 3, The Walking Dead episodic series, and Journey.

In addition to the awards, the VGAs will also be the place to see debuts of new trailers for Naughty Dog's The Last of Us, Gears of War: Judgment, South Park: The Stick of Truth, and others to be announced at a later date.

The awards show will be broadcast live on Spike TV, MTV2, MTV Tr3s, and through Xbox LIVE. It will also be streamed internationally on Spike TV's website and on GameTrailers.com.
