Time Magazine Names ‘All-Time 100 Video Games’

Time Magazine has compiled its list of the "All-Time 100 Video Games." Compiled by Time staffers, the list is divided by decades going all the way back to the 1970s and ending in 2010. Nominations from the 1970s include such classics as The Oregon Trail, Pong, and Space Invaders. For the 1980s hits such as Super Mario Bros., Frogger, Donkey Kong, and The Legend of Zelda get a listing. The 1990s choices include Solitaire, Doom, and Goldeneye 007.

In addition to letting readers choose their favorite games, the publication is allowing users to vote on the results. So far Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros., The Oregon Trail, Pong, and Space Invaders are leading the pack.

some of the choices on here are good. Some are a bit boggling, such as nethack over Angband, and then seeing a good deal of people rating it down.

Then getting to games like Gears of War.. and Mass Effect 3… BioShock.. makes me sad.  At least they put up Diablo 2 instead of 3.  the inclusion of System Shock 2 over BioShock would have been nice.  Glad to see that a lot of people don't consider games like angry birds as all time greatest.
