'Minecraft: The Story of Mojang' Airing for Free on Xbox Live Dec. 22

December 18, 2012 -

Xbox Live Gold members will get a wonderfully free treat this weekend: the world premiere of 2 Player Productions' documentary about Minecraft developer Mojang. In February of last year, 2 Player Productions launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $150,000 for shooting an all-encompassing documentary about the indie studio and its founder Markus "Notch" Persson. By the end of the campaign they managed to raise $210,000 for Minecraft: The Story of Mojang. Not too shabby. The documentary covers the very first year of Mojang's existence and offers an inside look at the team that helped create one of the most popular independently developed games of all time: Minecraft.

Minecraft: The Story of Mojang will air for free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers on Saturday, December 22nd. It will be available in nine different countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, and Sweden.

You can learn more about it on Major Nelson's Blog. To determine viewing times in your region, be sure to log on to Xbox Live and look around your Dashboard for further details.

Re: 'Minecraft: The Story of Mojang' Airing for Free on Xbox ...

I would love to see this when it comes out as Minecraft is my new favorite non-GTA game, right beside the P0rtal series. But I'm at my folks, where they have one of those wireless hotspots (with a data limit), and my XBOX is unable to go online wirelessly. It usually uses a hardwired internet connection.
