Gamers Outreach passed along word that registration for the Gamers For Giving 2013 LAN event is now open at lanfest.intel.com/gamers-outreach. The event will take place on February 16th and 17th at the EMU Student Center (900 Oakwood Street) in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The event is a collaboration between Gamers Outreach, the Intel LANFest series, and the student government of Eastern Michigan University. Gamers for Giving 2013 is a competitive video game tournament / BYOC LAN party to raise money and generate awareness for the initiatives of Gamers Outreach Foundation.
This year's goal is to raise $15,000.00 to help fund Gamers Outreach initiatives in 2013. In case you didn't know, the Gamers Outreach Foundation supplies video game care packages to troops serving overseas in places like Afghanistan. Funds raised from previous years have supported projects such as constructing portable video game kiosks for hospitals, and sending shipments of video game care packages to U.S. troops overseas.
