Indie Developer Almost Human Sells 600K Units of Legend of Grimrock

As part of an update to reveal what they have been up to since the release of the Legend of Grimrock (including a release of an editor that allowed players to make mods for the game – 450 are available as part of Steam Workshop as of this writing), developer Almost Human revealed that its game has sold over 600,000 copies since its release. Of course much of the success of the old-school first-person RPG had to do with being included in the pay-what-you-want DRM-free Humble Indie Bundle 7.

"And to sum up the year, we’re now proud to announce that Legend of Grimrock has sold over 600.000 copies!," a post on the official site proclaimed with much joy. "We would’ve been happy with just one tenth of the sales numbers, so needless to say we’re very happy and the future of our company is secured for a long time."

The recap of 2012 goes over all Almost Human accomplished in 2012 and shows off two screenshots of what they have been working on for 2013. You can check those out here.

I wonder if it truly had to do with the indie bundle, or more with the sales and that its actually a good game.

I got it back when the dev site offered up free GoG and STEAM copies with one from their own site :)

Same here. I was a big fan of the old Eye of the Beholder games and the ilk back in the day. This reminded me a lot of those. Got it during the Xmas Steam sale, among many other games, and I've yet to boot it up.
