Australia's second game to receive an R18+ games ratings classification is Ubisoft's Spartacus Legends, according to Player Attack. Spartacus Legends is a free-to-play action game to be released on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. It's based on the gritty and gory Starz original gladiator drama Spartacus.
The game lets players jump into the blood soaked sandals of a gladiator – from the slave pens to training, all the way to the very top of the gladiator ranks. The game is being developed by Kung Fu Factory and a release date is to be announced.
The first game to receive an R18+rating in Australia was the Wii U title Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge. Valve has talked about resubmitting Left 4 Dead 2 to get the original unedited version of the game in the region, and Warner Bros. has resubmitted Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition for a rating. That game was banned from Australia when it was released in 2011.
