BioWare Founders to be Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award at GDC

BioWare's founding fathers – Doctors Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk – will be honored at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco as part of the Game Developers Choice Awards. The founders of the studio that have brought us such hits as Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Knights, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age will be honored with lifetime achievement awards for their "contributions to the art and science of games."

The GDCAs are awarded yearly at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, and are the only peer-based video game industry awards (for game developers as awarded by game developers). Dr. Ray Muzyka and Dr. Greg Zeschuk will be honored at the Game Developers Choice Awards ceremony on Wednesday, March 27th at 6:30 pm at the Moscone Convention Center during GDC 2013 in San Francisco. The ceremony is open to all GDC 2013 attendees. Both Choice and IGF Awards will be hosted with Tim Schafer, LucasArts veteran and President and CEO of Double Fine Production.

Lifetime Achievement recipients are chosen by the Game Developers Choice Awards Advisory Committee, which includes Doug Lombardi (Valve), Mark Cerny (Cerny Games), Harvey Smith (Arkane), Raph Koster (Playdom), Chris Charla (Microsoft), and John Vechey (PopCap).
