Organizers of QuakeCon, the annual fan gathering dedicated to all things Quake and id Software related is set to take place this year August 1 – 4 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in the beautiful city of Dallas, Texas. Thanks to id Software and Bethesda Softworks (both owned by Zenimax, for the record) the event is free to all, though if you want a place to stay you'd better book a room early. You can make a room reservation with the Hilton by calling 1-800-Hiltons (1-800-445-8667) or by going online. A special room rate of $159 per night is available when you reference "QuakeCon 2013."
This year's QuakeCon will once again host North America's largest BYOC (Bring-Your-Own-Computer) LAN party, as well as keynotes from personalities in the community and from the video games industry. This year Bethesda Softworks will be showing some of its upcoming game titles to the public and give attendees a chance to try some of them "hands-on." There will also be exhibits and demonstrations from video game and technology companies showing off their latest products in QuakeCon's 45,000 square foot exhibit hall.
