Microsoft Deploys New Entertainment Options on Xbox Live This Week

Microsoft's Major Nelson points out that a number of entertainment apps and options will be deployed on Xbox Live this week.

Those offerings include Xbox SmartGlass for Game of Thrones Season 3 (United States) – a special enhanced app to squeeze more entertainment value out of the popular series using Microsoft's technology a Windows 8 tablet or iPad; MLB.TV Refresh (United States, United Kingdom, France, Australia, Germany, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Japan, Ireland, New Zealand, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Brazil, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Singapore, Russia, Poland, Colombia, Chile, South Africa, Czech Republic); IndieFlix (United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand); video game and tech channel Revision 3 (United States, Australia, Canada); free movie service PopcornFlix (United States); and Toys “R” Us Movies (United States).

These new services join other entertainment apps that launched in the first three months of 2013 such as NHL GameCenter, Neon Alley, Telemundo, Crunchyroll, Slacker, Redbox Instant by Verizon, GameTrailers, CanalPlay Infinity and VEVO TV.

Of course, I will be too busy playing Terraria on Xbox Live this week to care.

    I'll keep playing Terraria & watching everything on my Mac & PC, where there's no $50-per-year artificial paywall and I only have to pay for things once, if at all.  Thanks for playing Microsoft…
