Richard Garriott's Portalarium announced that it is now accepting PayPal payments for the Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues crowd funding campaign. The PayPal option is available on the Shroud of the Avatar site.
"Providing a PayPal option for our fans opens up our crowd funding to a broader audience," said Garriott. "Kickstarter is not as familiar to people outside the United States, but with this addition our fans in places like Germany, the United Kingdom, France and Japan now have a more convenient option to back our project. And on our Shroud of the Avatar site, we have the same funding tiers as the Kickstarter site plus a few additional items."
Since the last time we checked in with this Kickstarter, two stretch goals have been met, adding a pet system that gives players both social and combat pets, and a dynamic weather system. The next stretch goals are at $1.3 million (interactive musical instruments) and $1.4 million (the ability for players to tame animals to turn them into pets). The $1.5 million stretch goal is to be announced.
As of this writing Shroud of the Avatar: Lost Virtues has raised $1,211,666 from 16,952 backers with 10 days to go.
Shroud of the Avatar is expected to launch in 2014. For more information on the game the Kickstarter Campaign page.
