Organizers of this year's Game Developer Conference that took place last week in San Francisco say that the event saw a record breaking 23,000 attendees. This number includes game developers, businessmen, marketers, staff, and of course journalists covering the event.

This year's conference dedicated to games industry professionals featured plenty of navel gazing talks on the business and art of developing games, new hardware reveals and all the latest game making tools with fancy bells and whistles to create all types of games. New hardware and technology was also showcased including the PS4, Ouya and GameStick as well as the virtual reality headset the Oculus Rift.

The Game Developers Conference 2014 will take place March 17 - 21 at the Moscone Centre in San Francisco. A call for submissions for the conference will begin in the summer.
