Torment: Tides of Numenera Adds Chris Avellone After Hitting $3.5 Stretch Goal

Having hit its latest stretch goal of $3.5 million for Torment: Tides of Numenera, developer inXile has officially brought Obsidian Entertainment's Chris Avellone on board to help with the game. Why is this such a milestone for fans of this role-playing game? Because while at Interplay's Black Isle Studios, Chris Avellone worked on the original AD&D title, Planescape: Torment.

The Kickstarter page for the project offers the following message to fans as the Kickstarter has just a few days left until it is all done:

"The final days! Can we reach $4M and become the most funded Kickstarter video game yet? Welcome, Chris Avellone!"

As of this writing Torment: Tides of Numenera has raised $3,466,812 – well over its original $900,000 goal from 63,135 backers. The company also raised $67,000 through PayPal as of April 1. As of right now it is the second most funded game on Kickstarter – right behind Obsidian Entertainment's RPG Project Eternity. Project Eternity raked in a total of $3.98 million. This is the second inXile game successfully funded by Kickstarter – the first being Wasteland 2.

You can check out the Kickstarter page for more information on the game.
