Digital Eel's Rich Carlson let us know that the Kickstarter for the next chapter in its rogue-like space adventure game, Infinite Space 3: Sea of Stars, managed to raise $36,661 from 1,764 backers. Digital Eel was originally asking for $30,000, but managed to rake in a little extra. Carlson offered his thanks to various websites for helping the game meet its funding goal with news stories about the Kickstarter, and said that backers can expect a link to a survery in their email soon regarding how they want their rewards delivered to them.
"The Sea of Stars Kickstarter campaign has ended, and we're happy to have surpassed our funding goal by a healthy margin. While we didn't quite reach our stretch goals, the response our project received from everyone has been great even after we hit the initial target of $30,000!
We would like to thank all who pledged their support. (You will soon receive a survey to fill in details such as how you want your rewards delivered.) We are now going to go full steam ahead and make Sea of Stars the best possible experience we can.
We would also like to thank the following people and websites for publicizing our project and helping others find out about it, greatly contributing to our success."
Carlson goes on to thank various website including Blue's News, Inside Mac Games, Kickstarter Game Fans, Ohmwrecker AKA The Masked Gamer, Bytten, PC Gamer, RPS, Brian and Jim from Space Game Junkie, and Kevin Matheny and John Slade (AKA Fearless Testers Union #256).
Future updates on the project will be found on the aforementioned Kickstarter page and on www.digital-eel.com.
