Organizers of the 10th annual Games for Change Festival sent along a reminder that next week the annual event dedicated to games will officially launch. This year the Games For Change Festival will take place at New World Stages in NYC from June 17-19. This year's event will feature keynotes from Michael Jones, Chief Technology Advocate at Google, co-creator of Google Earth; "mini" keynotes from journalist Leigh Alexander and gaming thought leader Jesse Schell; and closing keynotes from Eric Zimmerman and Brenda Romero.
Panels and discussions taking place next week include the Games for Change Hall of Fame, curated by BabyCastles founders Syed Salahuddin and Kunal Gupta; the SexEtc.org Game Design competition finalists presentations; a presentation about the 10 year evolution of games in the Department of Defense; a panel discussion regarding the censorship of social impact games; a demo spotlight that allows game developers to present projects currently in progress to an open panel and the festival audience for feedback; and game-making workshops with Hide&Seek/Tiny Games, Tribeca Hacks, and The Global Game Jam.
