June 14, 2013 -

Electronic Arts has confirmed that it has closed Medal of Honor developer Danger Close. According to EA labels boss Patrick Soderlund, after it put the Medal of Honor franchise on hold, the studio had effectively closed. The majority of employees have left the company or have been absorbed at other studios with in EA including DICE Sweden. EA had previously declined to comment on whether Danger Close had been shut down.

"Danger Close as it was doesn't exist anymore," said Soderlund. "There are people who left LA, people who work with DICE LA, and there are some who work in other parts of EA, as always when something gets dismantled."

The recently opened DICE LA is expected to house up to 60 staff by the end of the year, with many former Danger Close employees joining the studio. The studio will help work on titles in development at DICE Sweden, which includes Battlefield 4, Mirror’s Edge 2, and Star Wars: Battlefront.
