GOG’s Massive DRM-Free Summer Sale, Torchlight for Free

Being that we strongly support any company that goes out of its way not to use DRM schemes to give them the false sense that they are somehow protecting their products from unauthorized use (and not impeding the pleasurable use of their products by legitimate consumers), we are happy to report that Good Old Games is offering a “No DRM Summer Sale.”

Beyond doing that grand dead, they are also giving away Runic Games’ awesome action-RPG Torchlight for free for 48 hours. GOG.com’s #NoDRM Summer Sale starts today, offering 500+ games at 50 percent off, along with daily deals up to 85 percent off the already low prices of its catalogue of games. At a glance, games found in the sale include Neverwinter Nights 2, The Witcher 2, Planescape Torment, the Might & Magic 6 Pack, and a whole lot more. You can check the sale out here.

While you are there you can score the free copy of Torchlight – but you only have from now until 12.59pm on June 20. If you are unfamiliar with the game, you can check out a nifty video to your left.

It's easy. When there are a bunch of daily deals, wait for the game you want to be one of the daily deals. If it hasn't gone on sale as one of the daily deals, then grab it the last day of the sale. Of course, GOG throws a curve ball at you with some of the games being on sale for less than the duration of the event.

Standard Steam sale rules apply here, folks. Wait until the last day of the sale before you start buying stuff up, unless something is part of the daily deal.
