Nordic Games Buys Desperados and Silver From Atari

June 24, 2013 -

Nordic Games has bought more assets from another company finding itself in the throes of distress and bankruptcy. This time the company has snapped up several franchises from Atari: Desperados and Silver. The IP was part of a block of assets put up for sale last month.

Desperados is a stealth-based RTS game series during the Wild West. Two games have been released in the series so far: the 2001 release Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive and the 2006 follow-up title, Desperados 2: Cooper's Revenge. The Silver IP is less well known. The action RPG was released on PC in 1999 and later on Dreamcast.

These two new acquisitions join a catalog of titles snapped up during THQ's auction that included such franchises as Darksiders, Red Faction, Stuntman, Full Spectrum Warrior, Destroy All Humans, MX vs ATV, Supreme Commander, Frontlines, Juiced, and Titan Quest.
