If you're a huge video game dork like me, you may have noticed that a few classic video game protagonists are getting new voice actors for the next installments in their respective franchises.
Michael Ironside has voiced Sam Fisher in all six Splinter Cell games since the first title debuted in 2002. In the upcoming Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Fisher will be voiced by Eric Johnson.
David Hayter has been the English voice for Snake in all the Metal Gear Solid games (about 6 games, depending how you count) since the original in 1998. He has been replaced by Kiefer Sutherland in next year's Metal Gear Solid V.
Stephen Russell voiced Garret in all three Thief games. The original came out in 1998. A forth title in the series (simply titled "Thief") will see Romano Orzari take over the role.
Some of you may shrug and say "so what?" while others will rage like someone just kicked their kitten. Point your eyeballs over to the right and you'll find this week's poll which asks which actor's performance you'll miss most. Vote in the poll, leave a comment, send us mail at SuperPACpodcast@gmail.com then tune in to next week's podcast where EZK and I will reveal the results and give the entire subject a thorough vetting.
It may be a rather short vetting though. I don't think EZK has played any of those games. But I'm sure he'll be happy to regale us with his love of waffles!
