The International Game Developers Association (IGDA) announced that Ed Fries, former VP of game publishing and co-founder of the Xbox project for Microsoft Game Studios; and Jen McLean, former CEO of 38 Studios; will deliver keynotes at the IGDA Summit 2013. The IGDA Summit 2013 takes place July 31 – Aug. 13 in the Hilton San Francisco Union Square hotel.
Long-time industry veteran Fries promises to share some of the secrets he has learned in the nine years since he left Microsoft including why some companies succeed while others fail; why we are still waiting for inventions long promised (and enjoying other technologies no one imagined); and what we can expect in the future.
Jen MacLean, who started out as a playtester and eventually became a CEO, will share the lessons she learned from 20+ years experience building teams, making games and living a happy life.
Other presenters at this year's event include Doru Apreotesei, Creative Supervisor, Ubisoft Blue Byte; Kate Edwards, Executive Director, IGDA; Sela Davis, Software Engineer, Microsoft Corporation; Cade Peterson, Community Manager PlayStation Digital Platforms, Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC; Sue Bohle, CEO, The Bohle Company; and Lindsay Peck, Principal QA, ArenaNet.
