League of Legends Players Team Up With eBay for Charity Tournament

Two League of Legends competitive teams have teamed up with eBay to create a charity tournament called the eBay Charity Invitational. The idea for the tournament came from members of League of Legends teams Evil Geniuses and Team Curse. Members of both teams will compete in one-on-one matches, with each player fighting for a charity of their choice. The tournament will take place on July 24 at 8 p.m. ET and will be live streamed on Twitch by One Nation of Gamers.

The event will utilize eBay to auction PC gaming equipment and collectibles from past eSports events. EBay has also pledged to donate $5,000 – but only if it drives traffic to the company's new "My Gadgets" feature. In addition, for every item tournament viewers list on "My Gadgets," eBay will add $0.50 to the prize pool. All sales during the event's auctions will also be added to the charity pool.

The overall winner of the eBay Charity Invitational will receive the donations collected from auctions and from eBay. You can find out all the details of the event here.
