InnoGames says that its advertising campaign on television in the United Kingdom has helped the company's free-to-play strategy game Forge of Empires surpass the 10 million registered user mark. The ads have been running for several weeks in the UK, with InnoGames planning a long-term TV campaign for the title.
"TV spots have proven to be a great addition to online advertising, and we managed to reach 10m user registrations for Forge in its first year, a trend which still continues to date," said PR manager Fabio Lo Zito. "We’re constantly airing TV commercials for the game. So far, there’s no end in sight."
InnoGames claims that it is using a "midcore approach" to reach a broader audience via TV advertising.
"The high production value, combined with the relatively casual core gameplay resonated very well with TV audiences," he added.
