Develop and MCV Shuffle Editorial Staff Leaders

September 4, 2013 - GamePolitics Staff

UK-based games industry-focused publication Develop has announced that it has shuffled a number of its editors around this week, mostly spurred by the departure of Intent Media founder Stuart Dinsey. Intent Media owned both MCV and Develop, and operates the London Games Conference. Intent Media was acquired by New York-based NewBay Media in December 2012.

Current deputy editor at MCV James Batchelor has been named the editor of Develop beginning in October. Batchelor will take over from Will Freeman, who will take on a contributing editor role on Develop. Freeman, who has worked in-house for Develop for the last five years, will still contribute to the magazine. Craig Chapple has been promoted to deputy editor at Develop after two years as staff writer.

Finally, Develop editor-chief Michael French will become publisher of Develop in November after the departure of Intent Media founder Stuart Dinsey, which was announced earlier today.
