Microsoft has revealed that the new Xbox Live Rewards program announced in June will use credits that will be converted into real currency in users' account balances for use on the Xbox Store.
Xbox Live users sign up for the rewards program (which is free) to get started, and every time that they complete various challenges and tasks with the program, they earn credits. These activities include renewing your Xbox Live Gold account, taking a survey, or playing a new game.
Rewards users will also get a three percent rebate for Xbox Store purchases if they increase their Gamerscore. Once users hit the 5,000 point milestone, they are converted into real-world currency and deposited in the user's account.
